As a member of the Sustainable Facilities & Infrastructure Research Team, Dr. Annie Pearce participated and led some interesting projects this summer, including:
1) Working with the US Postal Service to develop a strategy for greening their facilities through environmental leadership.
2) Working with Giles County to develop plans for a prototype Industrial Eco-park to be located near the Montgomery County line.
3) Working with Lanford Bros. to document the design and construction of their new headquarters expansion in Roanoke as part of a new LEED Innovation credit.
4) Developing a plan to involve Tech students in the rating of new green building projects on campus for course credit
5) Writing the first textbook on green building for the trades, to be published in conjunction with the National Center for Construction Education and Research.
